Reuters Global Manufacturing and Transportation Summit
What’s ahead for the manufacturing and transportation industries in 2012, and what does it mean for investors?
December 12 - 15
Reuters Global Manufacturing and Transportation Summit will bring keen insights on an economy that is increasingly looking adrift. With Europe’s spreading financial crisis threatening to undermine an already ailing world economy, Reuters bureaus in New York, Frankfurt and Singapore will sit down with a lineup of executives from top global manufacturing and transportation companies including Caterpillar, Boeing and United Parcel Service for a deep look at the industry’s heading in 2012.
The sector has already felt the pinch of slowing global demand, with manufacturers’ shares taking a deeper dive than the broad Standard & Poor’s 500 index over the past year, even as big U.S. manufacturers have notched solid profit growth through the first nine months of the year.
A lineup of guests that also includes Harley-Davidson and Siemens will weigh in on their hopes for 2012 and whether so-far strong demand in rapidly developing economies in Asia and the Middle East will be enough to keep the industry on a growth path as demand in the United States and Europe cools.
During closed sessions with Reuters journalists, executives and experts will discuss these issues and more. The Summit will generate exclusive interviews and articles, blog postings and online videos, immediately available ONLY to Thomson-Reuters clients.
Some video interviews will be available exclusively on Reuters Insider - our multimedia platform delivering relevant news, analysis and trade ideas.
